What’s a doula?

A doula is a trained support person who provides non-medical care.

Doulas support significant health related experiences, like childbirth, miscarriage, stillbirth, and/or non-reproductive experiences like death and dying.

Key functions of doula care:

  • Somatic Support

  • Social Support

  • Systems Navigation Support

  • Self-Advocacy Support

Another set of hands & ears

Doulas provide support that looks different depending on the individual. They’re there to support the parent(s) and offer strategies and solutions that lead to the improved experience of birth and postpartum.
